BitFury designs and develops industry-leading full custom ASIC silicon chips, printed circuit boards (PCB), servers and data centers. BitFury runs operations around the world and has data centers in Iceland and the Republic of Georgia.
Bitfury was founded in 2009 by Valery Vavilov & Valery Nebesny out of Amsterdam, Noord-Holland, The Netherlands. It now has offices globally, with headquarters in San Francisco, USA.
They employ or retain the services of more than 500 people in 16 countries, with experts in technology, business, communications, security and civil society.
Since 2011, BitFury Group has raised a total amount of $90M in 4 funding rounds. On January 25 2017 the company secured its last ‘Venture Round’ funding of $30M from Credit China FinTech Holdings. The company has also made investments to Moeco & Rootstock, $5M & $3.5M respectively.
VALERY VAVILOV – CEO and Founder
Vavilov, native Latvian is the CEO and founder Bitfury. Valery was inspired by Blockchain technology and saw an opportunity to build technological solutions that could improve the lives of people all over the world. He began building hardware solutions that would ensure security and trust in the Bitcoin Blockchain, leading The Bitfury Group to develop five generations of cutting-edge mining chips and state-of-the-art data center designs. The company now also provides custom-designed software, consulting solutions, and advanced hardware, all while maintaining its position as one of the major public Bitcoin Blockchain security and transaction providers.
Prior to founding The Bitfury Group, Valery spent more than 15 years in a variety of technical and leadership positions. He received his MS from Riga’s Transport & Telecommunication University in Latvia.ds.
