Biographical Info

VeChain leverages Blockchain to solve the problem of counterfeits and product tracability across supply chains and logistics namely in: Luxury Goods, Wines, Agriculture, Automobile, Transportation, Pharmaceuticals, Logistics and Audit Services.

Shanghai Weilian Information Technology Co. Ltd (‘Shanghai VeChain’​) was registered in 2017.

Launched in Shanghai, the business now has offices in Singapore and Paris, with over 70 employees including more than 50 professional Blockchain application developers.

One of the first partners was D.I.G, China’s largest fine wine importer.  PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC) acquired a small ownership interest in VeChain on May 4th 2018, stating that the investment is part of a larger strategic partnership to assist large-scale businesses.  Other notable relationships include: Guian Government (China); BMW; Groupe Renault; Liaoning Academy of Agricultural Sciences; German logisitics corporation Kuehne and Nagel; and DNV GL, a global provider of assurance services and one of the world’s leading certification bodies.

SUNNY LU

VeChain was founded in Shanghai by Sunny Lu in 2015, and it was registered in 2017.  Sunny graduated from Shanghai Jiao Tong University, majored in Electronics and Communication Engineering.  Formerly CIO of Luis Vuitton (LV) China, he served as an IT Executive in Fortune 500 companies for over 13 years.

CRYPTOCURRENCIES: VEN and THOR (two coin system)

Collaborating with Oxford University, VeChainThor was launched in May 2018, a smart contract platform that is fully programmable, similar to Ethereum, enabling reputable brands to design dapps, ico projects, applications and tools.

The robust two-coin system provides flexibility to create both a store of value, to be used as smart payment currency, and the appropriate means of managing the costs of using the VeChainThor protocol.  Providing relative incentives for everyone in the VeChain ecosystem.
