we.trade Innovation DAC is a joint-venture company owned by nine European banks, that develops and licenses the first blockchain trade platform for commercial clients and their banks available in the market.

Through distributed ledger technology and smart contracts, the platform provides a secure, innovative environment for banks’ commercial clients engaged in import/export transactions to trade in a user-friendly and efficient way.  Clients can register to the platform via their banks.

Originally known as Digital Trade Chain, the consortium rebranded as we.trade last year.  The joint venture is incorporated in Dublin, Ireland.

The nine founding banks are equal shareholders: Deutsche Bank, HSBC, KBC, Natixis, Nordea, Rabobank, Santander, Société Générale and Unicredit.

The partnering major European banks have guaranteed geographic and client coverage in 11 countries, with aim to open the platform up to other banks in other regions throughout 2018.

June 2018 – Awarded for ‘Most innovative use of Blockchain in the Financial Sector 2018′.

3rd July 2018 –  we.trade blockchain platform completes multiple real-time customer transactions.

COO at we.trade, Robert has an impressive resume that includes Global Head Of Commercial Banking Products and Vice Chairman of the Global Credit, Deposit ad Payment Executive Committee at Deutsche Bank, management positions from 1990 to 2007 at BNL – BNP Paribas Group in Italy and abroad thereof 7 years in the USA in Chicago and New York, respectively as Head of Corporate in the Midwest and East Coast Region, responsible for Large US Corporations and Italian Corporations in USA. In London for 3 years, Head of Corporate for the UK and Continental Europe. In Italy Head of SME Corporate Banking and Structured Finance in Milano.

Robert Mancone has a Master of Science in Economics from the University Federico II of Napoli, an Executive MBA from SDA Bocconi in Milano and a IoT Certificate from MIT Massachusetts Institute Technology
