Revolutionary Healthcare Blockchain Platform is Launched by Medicalchain
UK-based Medicalchain has launched a tele-medicine healthcare blockchain platform, MyClinic.com utilises Hyperledger Fabric to enable patients to complete cross-border video consultations with doctors.
Medicalchain has been working closely with the NHS, the world’s largest publicly funded health service with one of the most comprehensive health datasets in existence. In February they completed an ICO, raising $24 million.
MyClinic.com is the companies first blockchain application to launch. Incorporating Medicalchain’s blockchain based Health Passport, it aims to improve access to healthcare and uses their MedTokens (/MTN) for payment.
The platform allows patients immediate access to their personal health records, empowering them to choose the best doctors anywhere in the world, with the ability to share their records for better assessment and consultation.
In a press release last week, Dr. Abdullah Albeyatti, a former NHS doctor, Co-Founder and CEO of Medicalchain said:
“MyClinic.com will be piloted with patients registered at The Groves Medical Practice and The Groves’ General Practitioners, from July 2018, and will be launched to the general public later this year.”

According to the company statement, future Medicalchain applications will work in a similar way to build better relationships between doctors and patients. Co-Founder and COO Mo Tayeb stated:
“We are working together with patients, health professionals and technology specialists to ensure that MyClinic.com will seamlessly integrate into current healthcare services”
Medicalchain has received attention internationally for their work on a health data marketplace. The platform will empower patients to trade their own healthcare records, by granting access to these companies for MedTokens.
Until now, some patients data has been sold to pharmaceutical and research institutions without their knowledge.
